If you like this quiz, you can find instructions on how to play it in a class.
Students should challenge each other.
Each student should choose a poetic image from an English poem. Then they should use an AI image creator to create a real image of the poetic image. All other students should find out who is the poet of the poetic image and/or tell the title of the poem where this poetic image can be found.
Let us see how it works!
Suppose the line of the poem is as follows: "So I let go,
Sithens in a net I seek to hold the wind." (Whoso List to Hunt, I Know where is an Hind BY SIR THOMAS WYATT)
Step One. Insert the line into an AI image maker. I use DALL E 2.
Step Two. Wait for the image.
The result? Something funny.
What to do?
Step 1. We must write new instructions for the AI image maker.
Yes. You know well. A student can write a new instruction if he or she understands the poem. Let us see he or she can.
Step 2. The student inserts this: I am a man. I am standing in a meadow. The wind is blowing. There is a net in my hand. I try to keep the wind in the net.
Result: the desired image.
And yes, English teacher. You can play this game with your students, and yes, they will analyze poems better and better.
Play it. Teach it. Enjoy the game.
